The Project Settlement team had a great time at the Sacramento Indie Arcade event yesterday and enjoyed meeting many new people. We hope you also had a great time at the event and got a chance to visit our booth and try out Project Settlement.
What we were able to accomplish was to complete a major transition of the in-game assets from 2D sprite textures to full 3D textured models. This was a lot of work, but we feel quite confident that it was the right choice and that with this change, future development will be a lot easier. Although our gameplay was barely improved over what we had accomplished by last year's Indie Arcade, the 3D transition should streamline future artistic development, giving us the ability to do more with our small two person team.
We'll be posting screenshots, new videos, and developer news throughout the week, and also throughout the Summer as we work hard to get the game to a point where it's ready for an early release state, such as a Steam Greenlight. Our goal is to feel good enough about the development of the game in late Summer that we can announce an early-access alpha release date in late fall/holiday season of 2016.
